A Quilty Week

I've had some great 'quilty' days this week!  It started with the board and mat bag on Tuesday, then a great small group meeting on Wednesday, capped off by lots of quilting/sewing yesterday.  I've already shown you the bag (see it here), so now some new things.

Tami, of The Quilted Lemon, is part of a small group of quilters that meets monthly at my house.  She brought everyone these adorable little bird pin cushions.
Just too cute!  I received the one on the left. The story of the one on the right comes later. Anyway, the meeting was full of lots of inspiration and great ideas for quilts in the coming year.

Then yesterday was full tilt sewing!  Quilted a top in the morning, as hubby tells me he needs a baby boy gift for a coworker.
The panto Easy Peasy (love it!) was used all over, and now it just needs the binding finished.

But the day doesn't stop there.  The afternoon was devoted to Quilt Club at my LQS.  This time the lesson focused on the Hexnmore ruler by Julie Herman at Jaybird Quilts.  I'm making a table runner for my hutch (I've given up on the table!) in red, black, and white.  Here's what's on the design wall
I still have many more flowers to make before I determine the final layout, but I'm loving it so far!  Glad to finally use the Hexnmore ruler that I won in June.

Think the day is finished???  Nope!  The evening was wrapped up with the SVMQG meeting (that's Silicon Valley Modern Quilt Guild).  Held at the shop The Intrepid Thread, my eye caught this pretty print before the meeting.
So sweet--and so me!

Anyway, the meeting was full of laughter, as we had a gift exchange where the gifts are shifted left or right, depending on the story.  A few fumbles happened, and when it stopped, it turned out that I received another of Tami's birds.  Now I have love birds!  And, get this, she received the book, 3 Times a Charm (a fav!) that I brought!  Serendipity!

Well, that's enough for now!  I'm tired from just recounting it all!  Tomorrow, more on my zen quilting.

Happy Quilting!
