Seeing Green!

Happy St. Patrick's Day! Though I've not whipped up any new green items to celebrate the day, I am enjoying the ones I've made in the past.

On my table are these clover place mats,

which started my use of machine stitched binding. The technique I use gives me great results, saving me a lot of time.

Machine Binding
Nowadays, hand stitched binding is saved for special quilts.

The hutch is also decorated with a matching table runner.

The clover blocks are from Natalia Bonner at Piece and Quilt, and I designed the border.

The pattern for this border is available in my Craftsy shop, plus a tutorial full of pictures on paper piecing this can be found at Clover Irish Chain Table Runner.

And for more luck, on the wall is another clover.

Designed by me in 2013, it's one of my favorites! This one used to have a pattern, but needs some serious rewriting. But I do have a Celtic knots with bias strips tutorial, to create your own knots.

Since I used up all of the shamrock fabric last year, I'll have to settle for the bit of green in the HST spiral creation. It's sewn, and now needs borders.

(Note to self - don't take pictures in the early morning when there's no natural light.) And thanks to everyone for the feedback - this was the right path!

Wishing you lots of luck today!

  1. LOVE the spiral HST, especially with the gradation from light to dark in the spiral!

  2. I have to say I really love St Patrick's day and all the emerald and jade colors. All of your clover pieces are very pretty.
