Midweek Makers #74

How are the projects coming along? Come share your progress on the Midweek Makers linky party!

I have good news to share! I played some more with the Crafted Applique technique and my Silhouette Cameo cutter. With scraps left from Blossoms, I ran a test of which side worked better on the sticky cutting mat.

The purple (left) is crafted applique surface down, and the plum (right) is with the surface up (fabric face down).

With a blade set at 6, and a software setting of 'fabric, thick like canvas', both cut equally well, aside from an oopsie due to the cut being to close too the edge on the plum.

I'm pretty satisfied with the test, and will proceed with setting up the rest of the design for cutting. Woohoo!

Now for the favorites from last week! Susie, from Susie's Sunroom, impressed everyone with her Scrap Happy Quilt finish.

With all those mini charm packs, certainly a beauty!

And in honor of Memorial Day, Alycia at Alycia Quilts had a wonderful QOV show.

And my favorite from last week was this pretty modern table runner from Vicki at Vicki's Craft's and Quilting.

  2. I really am impressed with the Crafted Applique method; it seems to hold up so well under all the tests I have seen it put through. Great information on running it through a die cutter.

    1. I think it's a perfect match for the die cutter. It's stiffer and holds well to the sticky sheet, but not enough that the scraper has to be used. Nor is there a worry of the fabric detaching from fusible paper - I've had that happen.

  7. Susie's scrap happy quilt is gorgeous. Thanks for letting me link to the party and for hosting the party. From the looks of several of the posts (mine included, it's for the birds this week.
