The picture above shows the pouncing of the curl pattern, Autumn Breeze,
from the book 501 Quilting Motifs, onto the border.
I made the original motif a bit smaller so that it would fit both the length and width of the border, and cut slits in the design for pouncing. Could have stitched over it with big needle, but was feeling too lazy to switch out the needle. But so far, so good though in transferring it.
By the way, Autumn Breeze was also used on the border of Fireworks, with the addition of a star.
See how with the addition of one element makes a whole new design? Possibilities are endless!
All right, I must get back to it. See you tomorrow on Midweek Makers!

Love the way that looks in your border for the Fireworks quilt. I actually forgot till right now that I have this book. I don't think I've ever used it, but I'm thinking I need to pull it off the shelf ASAP.
ReplyDeleteThat quilting is just perfect. Looks beautiful.
ReplyDeleteHi Susan,
ReplyDeleteLook at you, Pouncing it. I used Pounce for the first time earlier this year on a border, and loved it. I have not thought about trying quilting patterns from a book - I used a stencil (that I had for YEARS and had no idea where it came from). I love it - I get so much inspiration and ideas for the quilting community and friend's blogs. Thanks! ~smile~ Roseanne
I've used that one! It's perfect for your fireworks, and I'm eager to see how it works with your ducks.
ReplyDeletecoming along well I expect you will have it completed in no time a good design which I am sure the ducks will be happy with
