Looking for New Blogs

Today, it's all about blogs, specifically quilt blogs. And I need your input!

I enjoy reading other quilt blogs and getting to know the quilter and their style - and I hope you do too!

But what's sad is that some quilters have abandoned blogs in favor of Facebook or Instagram. Or maybe they don't post as frequently as they used to, or their blogs have gone in a new direction.

That's fine, as we all lead busy lives, and interests change. Everyone has to do what works best for them. But blogs that I used to look forward to have fallen by the wayside.

So I'm on the lookout for a new group of quilter blogs to follow. Some I've found through the Midweek Makers linky party. Others have been through Bloglovin', my favorite source for getting updates from the blogs I follow, all in one place. There's also Quilter Blogs, which is a great resource of blogs, though I find I don't have time to go through the long daily list of posts.

Therefore, what I would greatly appreciate from you, faithful readers, is blog suggestions. In the comments, please list your 3 favorite quilt blogs, and why you like them. No need to write a long description - something like the following format works fine.

             blog:  abc.com   has great tutorials
or
blog:  xyz.com    free block designs and quilts

Other reasons for following them could be:

  •    has great pictures
  •   weekly giveaways
  •   great source of inspiration
  •   has fun quiltalongs
  •   has entertaining stories
  •   helps me to use my stash
  •   creates modern quilt designs
  •   is a great teacher
  •   a wonderful resource for all things quilty

Keeping it short and sweet will help me get through everyone's comments quickly and easily, which means more time to check out the new-to-me quilt blogs.

Thank you again for your input - I'm looking forward to discovering other great blogs!

Happy Quilting Everyone!

  1. I am always looking for new blogs also - I will look through my list and get back to you later today. Do you want just quilting blogs or a mixture? I like chatty blogs about quilting/life - but not always about quilting - so many have turned to Facebook/Instagram - I am trying Instagram but it isn't something that interest me as much as the blogging - a lot of quilters turned blogging at first I think to connect with others but consider blogging "work" you have to not consider it work to enjoy it I think!

  4. I got to looking through my feedly reader and some of my favorites that have to do with quilting are Exuberant Color, Patchwork Dreams, William Morris in Quilting, Quiltville, Dutch Comfort, Quiltyfolk, Little House on the Sea, Frugal Little Bunglow -- not all of these are quilting blogs, some blog daily some not often, most are chatty not really "teaching" just sharing life which are the blogs I prefer - most of these are quilters that I have been chatting with for 8-10 years so they might not be what you are looking for. I really like blogs that do not just talk about one thing but share what they are doing and who they are
