Quilting?? not much to report

It's summer. It's hot. It's vacation time. Anyone getting any quilting done?

thread in knots

The above picture with the bunched up thread expresses my quilting world these days, though it has nothing to do with sewing machines. Those all work fine.

Nope, it's me and summer. Though I made two Christmas projects, Yuletide Fir and Pinwheel Placemats, I found it really hard to get excited about Christmas right after the Fourth of July.

I did spend a couple days last week working on two things:
writing the pattern for Yuletide Fir, which is almost done,

Yuletide Fir by QuiltFabrication pattern cover page

and working on a design for a new summer project involving watermelon. No pictures to share there, as it still exists in my head - designing takes a while!

So, have I made any progress on my inset circles?
Not at all. Which means I'll probably continue to feature the Stash Statement book for awhile, as I have my hands full at the moment. It's a battle between making the idea that's in my head vs trying other's quilt patterns vs using up the stash.

Which leads me to a question for you, dear quilters. Which do you prefer: seeing new designs I create patterns for, or seeing quilts made from patterns in books? Leave me a comment below on what you would like to see more of.

Happy Quilting Everyone!

  1. I don't care. I just enjoy seeing your work. I just can't think snow when it's 90 degrees out.
    xx, Carol

  2. I enjoy both, but since I find so many great ideas on many blogs, it's impossible to try them all. So keep a mix of both to stimulate our brains.

  3. Great article..I am looking so forward to your blogcomment and
I love your page on your post.. That is so pretty..

Thank you so much for just made my day!
