Midweek Makers #156

Happy New Year and welcome to Midweek Makers!
At last week's party, I stated I was taking a break from quilting over the holidays. That's because I was in Tucson, AZ at the White Stallion Ranch doing this:

Bailey at the White Stallion Ranch
Susan on Bailey

Aside from very cold weather (the highest was 52F), this was so much fun! We stayed at the White Stallion Ranch, an all-inclusive resort featuring horseback riding, cattle penning, shooting, and rock climbing - something for everyone! I rode every day, up to two hours in the morning, then again in the afternoon, which is a lot considering I hadn't ridden a horse before.

Here's my family on Christmas Day, just before our first ride.

My older son has started the tradition of wearing a Santa suit on Christmas, which makes for some good memories, especially if we're travelling.

As the week wore on, my sons grew tired of the horses, but my husband fell in love with his mount, Outlaw - I teased him that I felt I had been replaced! We loved riding so much, hubby and I would do it again.

But enough of my travels - let's get on to the party! With Christmas over, I'm decorating with blue and snowflakes, so I'm a bit partial to these from last week:

from Run 'n Stitch,

and from Grace and Peace.

I haven't had a chance to stop by everyone's blog yet, but I'll visit later in the week - lot's of catching up yet to do.

So what do you have to share this week? Come link up!

  7. What a fun family Christmas holiday! Love the Santa suit; too bad the weather wasn't agreeable. You look right at home on that horse, given you hadn't ridden before. What fun memories!
