Midweek Makers #184

Welcome to Midweek Makers! I'm busy prepping binding samples for our guild's Summer Camp next week, using a set of six new place mats.

Each one has binding in various stages of completion, and I've even got two showing piped binding.

Hopefully, my tutorial will take the dread out of doing bindings for Summer Camp attendees.

With all that color going on in the place mats, I'm featuring a few items full of color from last week.

Here's Poco Loco from Sew Preeti Quilts,

a new July finish from Quilt Schmilt,

and a free Wonky Hexie's pattern from Sew Motion.

All so full of color!!

And what's in your work space this week? Come share!

  1. Good Morning Susan! Those placemats are very colorful and cute. Showing the various stages of binding should be a huge help. Some people are visual learners and other, like me, are more hands-on learners. I still want to try the piped binding and haven't yet. Whenever I see one I say I want to try that, and then promptly forget about it when I'm actually doing a binding. Maybe this post will stick in my head! ~smile~ Roseanne

  3. The "Old McDonald had a farm" fabric is so much fun. I am sure it will add joy to any table. I love faux piped binding and used it in my lat quilt. Thank you for featuring Poco Loco :-)

  5. I really liked your tutorials on binding! I have a few to bind in the next day or two and am going to try cutting off that bulk at the corners - it has always been a problem! You will have a great presentation! I like the one also that shows how to sew 2 strips together of different colors to get the effect of piping. Hugs
