Midweek Makers #192

Welcome to Midweek Makers! My collection of orange fabrics continues to grow, with these new pretties,

new orange fabrics for the stash

which look like a good match for Fiskars orange. So why am I collecting all of these oranges? Because last year, I sought out different orange fabrics for my Pumpkin Harvest quilt,

but the selection was pretty slim. So this year, I'm grabbing orange fabrics when I see them, for potential creating without limitations. I do so love quilts with lots of different fabrics of the same color in them - just part of my style!

Has everyone been keeping up with the My Favorite Quilt Block Blog Hop, hosted by Carla of Creatin' In the Sticks? My day is coming on Friday, Sept 13, and to keep in the spirit of the hop, I thought I'd feature blocks shared on last week's Midweek Makers.

From Quilts Etc,

from Purring Cottage,

from Made by Marney,

from Cheeky Cognoscenti,

and this one from Espritpatch.

  1. pretty orange! I've been collecting orange for a while now... it's important to have a range of each color, don't you think? Now that Fall is a'comin' I think I should get those out and start using rich oranges, dark reds, deep eggplant, and rich browns and make a fall quilt!

  2. Hi Susan! I've been pulling out orange fabrics as well. I'm playing along with a blog hop in early October - I think you are as well - and I need to get going on making something! ~smile~ Roseanne

  3. Good Morning Susan, I've been sneaking in a bit of orange fabric here and there too. Just in case I need more pumpkins in my life. Your design is beautiful, btw.

  4. I am always disappointed by the selection of oranges at my local shops. BUT, I visited a few shops in Oklahoma on a trip last spring, and there were so many orange fabrics!! One of their colleges has orange as a school color, and I was definitely impressed by their selection!

  5. I didn't used to like orange fabric, but it has grown on me and I have quite a stash of it now! It's hard to get in the mood for fall with upper 90 degree temps here, but I'm ready for it!!

Thank you so much for just made my day!
