Midweek Makers #236

Welcome to another week of sharing at Midweek Makers! After I finished up my Making Blocks from Crumbs video, I sat back down at the machine and stitched up more crumbs.

making blocks from crumbs tutorial

These two red blocks are the start of a Celilo rainbow lap quilt. I'm attempting to stitch up the next color in the ROY G BIV sequence over the next 6-7 months. This month was easy, as there is very little red. Though next month, I'll have to dig a bit deeper for orange crumbs, as I need five of each block size. Maybe I'll have to wait on orange until Halloween is over - I'm sure I'll have more crumb pieces by then!

As for last week, there were a couple of new faces to see:
this adorable snowman runner,

and this patriotic gnome, both from Patchouli Moon Studio.

And though not quite finished yet, this polar bear at Academic Quilter is pretty darn cute too!

Now it's your turn - come share what you're working on!

  1. I really like your snowman runner, the bird is so cute! Happy stitching.

  2. Your crumb blocks look good, I've been making some of my own. Not sure what I'm going to do with them yet.

  3. Thanks for featuring my snowman runner and wool gnome Susan. I sewed up those crumbs I told you I was working on and am now creating something with it. If it's done by next Wednesday I will share on your Midweek Makers Linky.

  4. I'm intrigued by the crumb quilt. That would be difficult for me to make, I'd have to purchase fabric just for the blocks. Last night I did a little reorganizing of my fabric drawers, I found 1 orange piece and 2 very small red's. The reds actually went in my scrap basket. Thank you for the linky party.

  5. I like seeing your crumb blocks - I could send you some orange :-) All those snowmen/winter peeks are cute!

  6. Making blocks from crumbs looks like a pretty busy process. All of your reds go so well together.

  7. I hope your post will motivate me to get my crumb top finally sewn together

Thank you so much for just made my day!
