Midweek Makers #238

Time for another Midweek Makers! My share this week is a message I received from Jennifer through Facebook earlier this month, with a picture of her version of Seafarer:

blue and aqua strips make ocean waves for the lone red sailboat made by Jennifer, Seafarer quilt pattern by QuiltFabication
She writes:
Hi Susan, I am writing from New Brunswick, Canada and just wanted to thank you for the beautiful Seafarer pattern. There was a mass shooting in Nova Scotia in April and 22 people were killed. The Maritime Modern Quilt Group (Halifax) put out a call for quilts to be donated to those affected by the tragedy. I bought your pattern and made a quilt. It turned out to be spectacular and I just wanted to share this with you. Kind regards, Jennifer

I replied: Wow! It looks wonderful and that's incredibly kind of you. I hope it not only keeps the recipient warm, but shows there are wonderful people in the world.

And wonderful she is for providing someone with a bit of love and human kindness in such a tragedy. I wish the world had more people like Jennifer, don't you?

Now on to my guest features for this week. I'm highlighting black and red, cause I'm seeing a lot of that with my current deer project. Check out this strippy spiral flimsy at The Colorful Fabricholic,

this quilt, Containment - A Covid Quilt at Storied Quilts,

and this Dragon Fly block at Melva Loves Scraps.

All so striking, and always a great color palette!

Now it's your turn - come share what you're working on!
  • please link to your post not your home page
  • visit with others, and leave some comment love
  • place a Midweek Makers badge, or somewhere on your site
And above all - have fun!

  1. It's always nice hearing from someone who has made a quilt from our patterns. It's even better when it's done with such kindness for others.

  2. Hi Susan! I am thrilled to finally have one finish to share this month. I love the Seafarer quilt that Jennifer made. I'll bet the end recipient is just thrilled with her thoughtfulness and kindness. Thanks for the linky party today - I appreciate it. ~smile~ Roseanne

  3. Other than a super busy life doing for others, I just can't seem to get it together to complete the things that I think I should each week.

  4. Lovely quilt and lovely note, thank you for sharing it.

Thank you so much for just made my day!
