Midweek Makers #242

Welcome to Midweek Makers! I have a new share this week, progress on my son's camping quilt - I've been making trees!

You may remember the voting request for the two versions of a tent. Responses were fairly evenly split, though both my boys liked version 2.

My son, the recipient, requested that water be somewhere in this quilt, which meant a bit of redesigning. He likes the new version, and after 3 months of sitting on this design, I've finally started stitching. Probably because his birthday is Aug 30 - hope to have it done in time. Nothing like a birthday to provide motivation!

And don't forget - time is running out to enter the giveaway! One lucky reader has a chance to win a copy of the quilting book, Walk, Jog, Run by Dara Tomasson. Read all about her book, plus 9 others at 5 Must-Have Quilting Books, then enter to win via Rafflecopter at the of the post.

Along with quilting how-to's, I've talked a lot about colors palettes, color theory, and rainbows. And how fitting that two very colorful quilts should show up at Midweek Makers.

From Sew Yummy, a very colorful quilt from a block swap,

and from Anja Quilts, her Summer Sampler 2019.

  1. Ooh, those camping trees look fabulous, Susan!

  2. I love those trees! I'm so eager to see your project go from a plan to the actual quilt! Adding water is a great idea!

  3. Looking forward to seeing the trees in the camping quilt. That gave me some ideas for some t-shirt quilts I need to make. Most of the t-shirts were from camping trips!

  4. Good luck meeting the deadline. Can't wait to see it. Thanks for the shout out.

  5. Too bad for me. I missed the linky this week. I was too busy heading back to school to sew very much. I love your trees though!

Thank you so much for just made my day!
