Yellow and More Yellow

In between client quilts, I'm squeezing in some yellow blocks for RSC2020.

This may be the last 'color' for this year, as I think the last two months are neutrals, or to play catch-up. If that's the case, I think I might make a few more blocks to fill out my idea of setting those pinwheels on point.

And while those yellow scraps were out, I got a start on some block parts for the Rainbow Celilo lap quilt.

The streak of yellow through the quilt is a longer one, so I've got plenty of pieces yet to make. But it sure is gratifying to go through the scrap bag and use up those little pieces. I'm really looking forward to seeing Celilo in a rainbow!

Speaking of yellow, I braved the airport and travelled to Boston over the weekend, hoping to catch some fall colors while visiting my son. We were a bit early, but still, there was color here and there.

I just love those fall colors, especially around lakes!

And I'm happy to report that my son, better known as Seafarer because of the sailboat quilt I made him for his voyage to Paraguay then Boston, is doing well settling into his new port. His canine companion, Po, has grown into an adorable pal, and we enjoyed visiting with both.

Yes, we may have been crazy to travel right now, but we actually had higher anxiety getting our covid test results in time than the actual travelling. Airlines are really doing a great job to make everyone safe.

With that, I hope you are staying safe - Happy Quilting!

  1. Hi again, Susan! I'm glad you felt safe with flying. The industry has been hard hit as have many others. It's just the best that you could visit your son! Oh, the Fall colors as reflected in a lake or body of water is just the best. And your yellow scrap block ALL look great. I'm hoping to play along with RSC in 2021. ~smile~ Roseanne

  6. How clever of you to share pictures of YELLOW leaves. It looks like Boston is well into Autumn. Po might need a new scarf in fall colors.
