Virtual Cookie Exchange and Christmas Hop

Who's ready for cookies and Christmas? Tis the season for both!

The Virtual Cookie Exchange and Christmas hop, in its sixth year, is hosted by Carol of Just Let Me Quilt. I just love participating the hops that both she and Carla of Creatin In the Sticks host - they are always fun, with lots to see!

I think this is my first time participating in the cookie exchange, mainly because I don't make many cookies anymore. But, I do have a favorite Sugar Cookie recipe from my MIL, which is always a favorite with hubby.

Though a bit deadly in the ingredients list, these cookies melt in your mouth - it's hard to stop at just one. Believe me - I know. Hubby can't stop snacking on them!

Sugar Cookies

We'll be leaving these out for Santa, so I'm sure he's also going to expect a well decorated house. I'm choosing four of my Christmas patterns, all of which will be within Santa's viewing range from the fireplace.

My new adorable gnome decked out in red, next to his chubby little house.
Love the wonky trees in his yard!

Check out the blue and white version, Winter Forest, an all-snow tree table topper.

If Santa hasn't filled his sweet tooth enough with the cookies, he might enjoy the Peppermint Candy table runner. This one is calorie free!

Santa may also be impressed that I have portraits of his crew on the wall in Reindeer Wreath, cause they're just as important as the big man himself!

I think Santa would be very satisfied by my decorations. If you're just joining in on the hop, be sure to visit the others for cookies and more Christmas inspiration.

  4. I've been crazy for gnomes this year, so your sweet runner has my heart...love it! You are just amazing with all the things you create. Those trees are just the cutest, as are the reindeer and pinwheels. Sugar cookies that would melt in my mouth sound like a perfect recipe...yum! Thank you for sharing and joining in the fun, Susan! xo

  8. Your featuring so many great patterns. Love the Christmas trees and the Christmas fabrics are perfect. The Reindeer Wreath is sweet, too; the cock-eyed way you positioned the reindeer blocks has so much personality. Sugar cookies are definitely a part of the season.

  13. Sugar cookies are a favourite around here too. Our local bulk food store sells something this year called 'fairy dust' which is a new type of sprinkle that looks SO pretty either on top of cookies or whipped cream gracing the top of a cup of hot chocolate.

  14. Hi Susan! Thanks so much for the sugar cookie recipe. It's an interesting mix of ingredients - margarine and vegetable oil. I will have to give it a try. I'm always on the hunt for the "best" sugar cookie recipe, and I have plenty of family to pass judgment for me! ~smile~ Roseanne
