I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream!
Food is the theme for this month's Quilt Block Mania block. My food choice is ice cream, especially as Ice Cream Cones, as it's a universal favorite. Really, who can resist an Ice Cream Cone, especially on a hot summer day!
Personally, I'm a big fan of sherbet, with orange and lemon at the top of my list. I'd love to dive into a full carton of orange sherbet, though these days it's hard to find just a single flavor. Usually, they pair orange with raspberry and either lemon or lime. Not a big fan of the raspberry, so I'll just scoop out what I want and leave the raspberry behind!
In designing this block, I got lucky that the Design Seeds palette of produced hues works perfectly for cones of sherbet. I think I did pretty good putting all but one of the colors in, taking the liberty of adding brown for the cones.
And here's the links to view and download those too. Keep in mind that these are free for a limited time, as the designers reserve the right to offer the blocks for sale after the initial one-month free period.

My finished 12" x 12" Ice Cream Cones block includes both foundation piecing and applique, both of which are super easy. If you're new to either technique, this is a great block to learn with.
