Ice Cream Cones for QBM!

I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream!

orange red yellow green ice cream cones

Food is the theme for this month's Quilt Block Mania block. My food choice is ice cream, as it's a universal favorite. Really, who can resist a bit of ice cream, especially on a hot summer day!

Personally, I'm a big fan of sherbet, with orange and lemon at the top of my list. I'd love to dive into a full carton of orange sherbet, though these days it's hard to find just a single flavor. Usually, they pair orange with raspberry and either lemon or lime. Not a big fan of the raspberry, so I'll just scoop out what I want and leave the raspberry behind!

In designing this block, I got lucky that the Design Seeds palette of produced hues works perfectly for cones of sherbet. I think I did pretty good putting all but one of the colors in, taking the liberty of adding brown for the cones.

This block, along with all the other food blocks my fellow quilt designers came up with, will make for a very fun food-themed quilt!

  2. That’s really cute. I love the colors. Who would think carrots and radishes would make such pretty ice cream cones?
