12 FREE Christmas Quilt Patterns

Christmas is only a few weeks away, so how about some FREE quilt patterns to brighten up the holiday?

Leading off the list is this impressive 3D Poinsettia table runner from So Sew Easy.

Or for a bit of whimsy, this adorable S'mittens table runner from McCalls Quick Quilts.

How about decorating your table with a small project, such as this Candlelight Christmas mat,

or Candy Canes and Holly, both from FreePatterns.com.

For fun, hang this adorable Gnome Mini Quilt from SewCanShe.com,

My Favorite Patterns

Midweek Makers 305

Welcome to Midweek Makers - let's do some sharing!

 

Along with working on my cat quilt last week, I squeezed in some time to quilt up another squares quilt for Robin, this time in a variety of purples and it's just as pretty as the pink one I did several weeks ago.

I would also like to announce the two winners of the Quilt As-You-Go books: please congratulate Kathleen and Lee. Hopefully we'll see some quilt as-you-go projects from these two here at Midweek Makers!

Cat Quilt Progress

Woohoo! Progress has been made on my appliqued cat quilt blocks - take a look!

 

Now you get to see all of the different cat appliques, not just these two that I showed before.

With all the freezer paper templates gone, the blocks are pressed and trimmed to 14.5" square, corner triangles are added, and the center sashing joins them together. That's pretty good progress for me right now.

Reason I say that is because hubby and I have been making 12 hour drives (one way) every two weeks to help a relative rehab a house. It's slow going and there's still plenty do, which is not only exhausting but it really cuts into my quilting time and creativity. But I know all of the house work will be worth it when it's finished.

So, with that in mind, you may see fewer quilts and fewer posts from me over the next 2-3 months. Midweek Makers will continue on, and I've got several book giveaways planned over the next few weeks as C&T Publishing has been far too kind.

As for my cat quilt, I haven't decided on the borders yet but it may involve mice. And with this being a hand appliqued quilt, those mice will have to follow suit, which takes more time. Hmmm, maybe I can work on that on those long drives, just as long as I don't get carsick.

Overall, I'm happy that what started as blocks tucked away in a drawer for years is now becoming a quilt!
