Midweek Makers #459

Welcome to Midweek Makers! And Happy Halloween!

This week I'm sharing an under-bed box block full of Halloween scraps! I just love the little fellow peeking out in the center! This is my fourth block that has a creature looking out at us - a bit of I Spy.

With this block, that marks the end of my holiday themed scraps. Those I don't have are Easter and St. Patrick's Day, mainly cause I don't have any of those themed fabrics anymore. Oh well. Could have used them to expand the quilt!

There were some pretty quilts last week, with some for Halloween and fall. Did you see these?

Gretchen's Little Corner shared her Blessed by Nature flimsy, a very pretty stack-n-whack style quilt.

Patchouli Moon Studio joined the Something Wicked Blog Hop, creating this Halloween themed quilt.

And Busy Hands are Happy Hands is making this wall hanging to add some fall decor.

Midweek Makers #458

Welcome to Midweek Makers!

My Scrap Storage quilt is taking shape, and I'm making shoe box storage blocks to fill in both empty spots and to make the quilt longer. I have found I've had to be a bit more thoughtful about the new blocks, scrounging through the scraps and now yardage bins to find fabrics to make the blocks work.  Keeping with the RSC2024 October theme, here's a few more 'lights', one in pale yellow, the other mint.

I'll continue the scrounging until I get enough blocks!

There were some fabulous finishes last week. Check out the Eiffel Tower from Quilting is in My Blood,

Grace and Peace Quilting finished her Prisms quilt,

and Making a Lather showed off her Diamond Strings scrap quilt.

Nice work everyone!

Midweek Makers #457

Welcome to Midweek Makers!

Another scrap storage box! For the October RSC2024 lights, I hit my bag of white scraps, which had plenty to play with. The next decision was what size block best fits the quilt. Even though I would have preferred more shoe box size blocks, I opted for the tall storage box block. The reason has to do with the lid.

Because I was dealing with white scraps and all my blocks have white lids, the tall box block contains the least amount of white lid. Therefore, I avoid the confusion of where the box ends and the lid begins. Makes sense right? Hope I'm not the only one who would think of these things!

Some very nice finishes were shared last week. Did you see the cute Polaroid quilt Patchouli Moon Studios made?

Or the very lovely Radiant Blues quilt from Gretchen's Little Corner?

And another Snowflake finish, this one from Vicki's Crafts and Quilting?

Well done everyone!
