Halloween - Candy Corn

This post update October 2023.

Halloween is fast approaching and how better to satisfy the sweet tooth than with Candy Corn

The members of Quilt Block Mania have designed a wide variety of Halloween themed quilt blocks, perfect for a spooky quilt! So that our blocks all coordinate in color to make a quilt, our palette theme for the Halloween blocks was based on this picture and palette from Design Seeds.

Quite the variety, right? I went with that traditional Halloween favorite, Candy Corn, here in block form.

This block was fun and easy to make! Changing the solids to prints, I turned mine into a table runner pattern, aptly named the Candy Corn table runner.

Those are the colors I used in the drawings and in the pattern, though in real life, I made my original candy corn block with a brighter orange and yellow, and switched the background from black to purple for the block. All that purple discussion in Purple vs Indigo vs Violet rubbed off on me!

I think Halloween Candy Corn looks just as good with the purple background!

The Halloween Candy Corn block only pattern is now available in my Etsy shop, as September QBM has now passed. And feel free to check out the Candy Corn Table Runner too!

Happy Halloween!

My Favorite Patterns

  1. Love the Purple and all the colors of the corn. You are the BEST at color!

  2. Candy Corn is one of my favorite things about Halloween! I love that you turned it into a quilt block!

  3. This is a really fun block - and so many others to look at!

  4. Such a great memory block, Susan, and the idea of using the 6" blocks tumbling across a table runner is gaining momentum in my head!

Thank you so much for commenting...you just made my day!
