Apple Bough Block for Sept 2026 Quilt Block Mania

This month, the Quilt Block Mania theme is 'harvest', and that's a wide category! I've chosen to stick with everyone's favorite, an apple.

My block, Apple Bough, is a little bit different than your standard apple block. Putting the apple on a waving, contrasting black and blue background makes it pop, while the branches provide a little window snapshot of the apple on the tree. Really got my artistic juices going on this one!

So let's see the other harvest themed blocks:

And of course, the links to all, free for the month of September:

Apple Bough requires fat quarters of black, blue, brown, red, and green plus a bit of fusible web. Once all the pieces are cut out, it's an easy assembly. I think it looks stunning with a red apple, but yellow and green are also options.
