September 2017 Book of the Month

I'm super excited about a brand new quilting book for the September 2017 Book of the Month selection - introducing Making Connections - A Free-Motion Quilting Workbook! (affiliate link)

And did you see what it says at the bottom? 'For Longarm or Domestic Machines' - yeah! Quilting designs for every quilter!

I am always on the lookout for books with fun, easy patterns, or books with quilting designs, as they are great resources to draw upon. And this one is another that deserves a spot on my shelf, and yours too!

Dorie walks us through the basic backbone of the quilt designs,

then with each page (there are over 100 of them!), adds a new twist. This creates a completely different design than the one before, opening up lots of quilting options.

Each of the quilting designs are fully drawn out, with numbered directions making the design easy to follow. And of course, Dorie recommends drawing the designs before stitching, to burn the stitch path into muscle memory.

Through the month, I'll be showing my progress with her designs using my longarm, though they can be stitched with a domestic machine.

And on September 4, the Making Connections Blog Hop gets into full swing!

Get ready to visit 18 quilt bloggers to see their quilted projects using designs from the Making Connections Free Motion Workbook (affiliate link). Be sure to visit on the 4th to see the entire list and enter to win a copy of the book! Woo-hoo!
