Giveaway Time!

It's time for another giveaway, thanks to C&T Publishing. This time, it's quilts intertwined with history in Barbara Brackman's Divided Hearts book (affiliate link, to check out the book in more detail).

This one is for the history buffs, as Barbara weaves fascinating historical narratives in with 12 different quilt blocks. Not only are there tidbits to learn about important women in our history in Divided Hearts, but there's also instructions for creating the twelve accompanying blocks plus a few added setting blocks.

Here's a sample of the blocks:

and here they are again, on-point, with sashing, in a red/white color scheme.

And also in this square, straight setting with alternating chain blocks in calm blue.

These are just a few examples of quilt layouts shown in the book. There's plenty more ideas for using the 12 blocks to make beautiful quilts!

Now for the history part. There's a number of women who were important figures in the country's history, such as Mary Todd Lincoln, Mittie Bulloch Roosevelt, and Anna Maria Calhoun Clemson. Divided Hearts tells the stories of these women, their role in history and also their relation to the quilts.

Want to learn more? Then enter to win (via Rafflecopter below) a copy of Divided Hearts. Giveaway is open to continental US residents only (no Alaska, Hawaii, or International residents - sorry), from now until midnight February 21.

  2. I have a large number of antique quilts. Some of them have been documented as part of a state documentation project. There is also one with a date of 1895 embroidered on the quilt.
