Welcome to Midweek Makers - let's have another week of sharing!
My share this week is resumed progress on the pink scrap quilt. Yes, I've switched gears from red to pink - just trying to keep up with RSC2022. Never mind that pink was the color choice for April. At least I'm not that far behind!
Anyway, the idea for the pink scraps is to have a heart in the center, surrounded by four pink and four black/pink squares. The picture below would be the lower left of the quilt.
I just hope I don't run out of black/pink prints! Ultimately, this will be a baby quilt for my son's friend - the baby is due in August.
And did you see these from last week's party?
From Viridian's blog, a pretty Scrappy Mountain Majesty finish,
The red scraps from January RSC are still covering my cutting table, getting in the way of working on other projects. I figured it was time to bite the bullet and finish up the 'I (heart) U' sequence.
For some reason, designing the 'U' was something I wasn't looking forward to. But, like I said, I bit the bullet and just did it. Then I wondered what my hesitation was cause it turned out quite well!
Just a note about comments: for some reason, Google has decided to put a 'sign in with Google' button in some blogs comments section.
I've clicked it, and nothing happens. And I'm already signed in through Blogger, yet it still won't let me leave a comment. If anyone knows the secret of getting through this, please let me know! I'll comment when I can!
Hi everyone! I'm excited to announce that I've just listed a few fan favorite blocks in my Etsy shop!
XYLOPHONE
WATERMELON WEDGE
ICE CREAM CONES
PACK IT UP
In case you missed them, these are previous Quilt Block Mania blocks which, after a period of time, I list in my Etsy shop. These join the other popular blocks below.
SURFBOARDS
CASTLE
GRAD CAP
CANDY CORN
So many different blocks to create with!
As for other Quilt Block Mania blocks, some will eventually be turned into full quilt patterns, some will be for free, and others are just waiting a reasonable time before I decide which way they'll go. So many blocks - so hard to decide!
Happy Quilting!

While it's technically not the time of year for sunflowers, I'm going with it because of three pretty sunflower themed projects that were shown last week.
and from Quiltpiecer, a lovely sunflower quilt for her granddaughter.
Though my share was made a few years ago, it goes with today's sunflower theme - my Sunflowers table runner.
As a bit of added fun to today's party, how about 25 percent off the Sunflowers pattern? That allows plenty of time to make the runner for sunflower season in late summer. Just use coupon code 'SUNFLOWERS' at checkout in my QuiltFabrication Etsy shop, now till midnight May 17 - enjoy!
This approximately 56" x 66" lap quilt is composed of 8" teal scrap blocks, appliqued pink hexie flowers, strip-set sashing pieces, and even a scrap border and binding. That's quite the use of scraps!
In case you haven't followed the progress on this quilt over the last month, I suggest reading these previous posts to see it's evolution. And you may learn a few new techniques too!
Now back to Chantille. Here's a few close ups, first of the scrap blocks, hexies and sashing.
Next up is the quilting, with the gorgeous Chantilly pantograph in a pale yellow-green thread.
Love it! The quilting design is just beautiful on this quilt! I like that pantograph so much on this quilt that I chose a derivative of 'Chantilly' for the quilt's name. And it shows up so well on the back too.
Notice the pink band? I felt the original backing idea needed some oomph, as it was composed of yardage in the middle and pieced parts at the top and bottom - boring! So, I cut out a 5" horizontal center strip and inserted a 6" pink strip.
So much better!! Now this quilt resides on my sofa, to snuggle under while watching some evening TV.
Currently, I don't plan on writing up a pattern for Chantille. If there is enough interest, I will - just drop me a comment if you would like to also make the scrappy Chantille quilt. It's also possible there could be 1 or 2 more sizes too - just let me know.
Happy Quilting!

My share is that I'm almost done with my flower scrap quilt. It's quilted - I posted a sneak peek on Instagram and all that's left to do now is the binding. I'm hoping for a Friday reveal - stay tuned!
Trying to keep that project on track, I managed to squeeze in it's quilting in between a number of client quilt projects. From Cathy, this striking Deco quilt with the Fizz pantograph,
from Chris, three runners and this black/white/grey plaid with a grey Minky backing,
and from Denise, this fun Hawaiian themed quilt, also with a Minky backing and quilted with the Banana Leaves pantograph.
Thank you to these wonderful quilters for entrusting me with their projects!
As for last week's party, there were these pretties:
This month for Quilt Block Mania, it's all about bugs! One of my favorites, mainly because they turn into beautiful butterflies, is the caterpillar.
Can't you just imagine this little guy, all fuzzy and creeping along up the leaf? I made him quite colorful and hope he turns into a stunning butterfly!
Of course, my color choices were based on the provided color palette from PaperHeartDesign.com, which at first glance, seems a bit tricky. But, I managed to work the colors to my advantage for the caterpillar.
My block is just one of the many you'll find for free this month. Take a look at all of these other free bug-themed blocks.

My Caterpillar quilt block is perfect for the beginner quilter who wants to learn fusible applique techniques. Fat quarters are that's needed for one block that measures an unfinished size of 12.5" x 12.5". When sewn into a quilt, the Caterpillar block finishes at 12" x 12".
