Welcome to Midweek Makers for another week of sharing!

In keeping with my desire to use scraps this year, the chosen color for the April RSC2022 is pink. My bin is fairly deficient of pinks scraps due to these blocks I made last year when pink was the color for January 2021. 

I'll have to dig these out and see if I can make some more, and ultimately a small pink quilt. I know someone who is having a baby girl - think this idea might work for that?

And in case you missed it, the RSC2022 March color was yellow, the very same color that popped out at me at last week's party.

Teatime Cakes for Quilt Block Mania

Welcome! Come on in and stay awhile for a hot cup of tea, a delicious piece of cake, and some quilting too.

Yes, the Quilt Block Mania group is hosting tea time this month, with a very sweet tea time color palette of bright pink, pink, cream, lilac, red, and dark brown.

With those colors, I found it super easy to design some tantalizing cakes to go with a spot of tea. Who doesn't love cake?

Personally, with this selection, I find it hard to choose which piece to have! There's a very simple vanilla cake filled and iced with chocolate ganache; a decadent chocolate cake with vanilla cream filling and red buttercream frosting; a very rich red velvet cake and in my version, topped with chocolate cream; and a delicate strawberry cake with cream cheese filling and icing. YUM! 

Along with tea, there are other goodies to choose from for QBM tea time.

Stop in for a spot of tea with the other quilt block creators to collect all the tea time blocks for the month.

My Teatime Cakes quilt block is geared toward the Intermediate quilter who is comfortable with paper or foundation piecing. The pattern includes the full-sized paper piecing template - just be sure to print four templates.

Fat quarters are all that's needed to make one Teatime Cakes block. The unfinished size is 12.5" x 12.5", which means the block finishes at 12" x 12".

My Favorite Patterns

Wildflower Table Runner

It's done - my new Wildflowers table runner!

I'm so thrilled with how well this turned out - one simple block with the petal appliques comes together to make a great spring runner to add to my collection!

Believe it or not, those unique applique petals were created using a circle die on my Crafters Edge Crossover II machine - easy peasy! Certainly a creative way to use those cutting dies. But don't worry, a cutting machine is not necessary to make this runner - the circle template is included in the pattern.

And how about that adorable butterfly to finish off the scene? Making them in purple really makes them pop!

Notice the quilting is fairly simple. Stippling around the flowers and straight line quilting in the flying geese and borders.
