One Unit, Two Values, Four Blocks, Multiple Layouts

Halt everything! There's a quilt to be made!

Hubby is in need of a boy quilt, and there are none in my reserves. That means drop everything and make one!

Deciding to play with this one basic unit of (2) 2 1/2" squares and (1) 2 1/2" x 4 1/2" rectangle,

and switching up the value placement, four different blocks resulted.

Block Version 1

Block Version 2

Block Version 3

Block Version 4

And from there, the possibilities are endless! Here are some EQ7 generated layout ideas, each using for four identical blocks:

I'm sure there are more, especially if two different blocks are combined - I just ran out of time to play! But for this quilt, I chose the first layout, and it's just about ready for quilting - I'm thinking panto.

Until next time, have a great day quilting!
