November 2015 Book of the Month

Wow! Halloween is over, Thanksgiving is weeks away, and 2015 is coming to a close. How fast time flies! And I'm now a day late in announcing the November 2015 Book of the Month selection. Drum roll please! The honor goes to one of my favorite quilters, Angela Walters, and her book,
Shape by Shape.

Angela is a fabulous quilter, and a wonderful person. She's published several books, In the Studio with Angela Walters, Freemotion Quilting with Angela Walters, and Get Quilting with Angela and Chloe, to name a few.

I've taken her Small Changes, Big Variety class with her in person, and not only does she do a great job teaching but she's funny too! If you can't get to one of her classes, she also has them on Craftsy. I've learned a lot from the following:

Free Motion Quilting Feathers
Dot to Dot Quilting

and
Machine Quilting Negative Space

Yet to explore are:

Machine Quilting Borders and Backgrounds

and
Help! How Do I Quilt That?

If you want to know what these classes are all about, just click on the caption titles, which takes you to Craftsy.com, where you can preview the class. Awesome!

And by the way, Angela has just opened a quilt shop/studio in Liberty, MO--congratulations! But me, I'm off to get some quilting done! I'll have more about Shape by Shape in a few days.

Happy Quilting!

  2. I bought this book at the Malvern Quilt Show a couple of weeks ago and love it - have been practising all the circle designs so far.
