Halloween Quilts

I you were reading Friday's post about my new runner, Jack O' Lantern, you may have noted that I'm more of a traditionalist when it come to Halloween images. Along with pumpkins, bats, witches and ghosts, Frankenstein also came to mind, specifically my Frankenquilter mini wall hanging.

Full of many parts along with the tools to make him, Frankenquilter is quite handsome, don't you think? Well, maybe that's a stretch, but he sure is a fun take on a Halloween favorite!

Here's another quilt from a traditional favorite, Just Batty.

I love all of these bats swooping and twirling up in a moonlit sky - can't you imagine it? With more bats in the larger twin size, that whirling group of bats could be called a cauldron or a cloud. Personally, I like the cloud term - seems fitting.

I'm also okay with spooky eyes peeking out at me from the dark, like those found in Halloween Fright Night

Owls and cats are watching in between a variety of Halloween fabrics - spooky yet fun!

Of course, I can't leave out everyone's favorite right now, Pumpkat Patch. There's something about this runner that appeals to everyone!

And me included, as I have it displayed on a hutch every year for two months.

Of course, Halloween wouldn't be complete without candy! And it's back to tradition with Candy Corn, seen here as a block,

or with the candy pieces used separately, along with some wrapped candies to make the fun and festive Halloween Candy table runner.

See? I've definitely gotten into the Halloween spirit, updating those traditional spooks. Hmm, wonder what I'll dream up for next year??? But for now, all of those quilts above are available in my Etsy shop so you can make your own.

Happy Haunting!

  1. Susan, all of those projects are wonderful! I love the Pumpkat Patch, but there is something very appealing to me about the Halloween Fright Night--maybe it's the simplicity of it or maybe it's those eyes staring out of the dark... :)

  2. Susan you are so darn talented! I love them all. but still finish my UFOs. Now if I could only turn the clock back a year maybe my energy level will get to 100%. Cold front coming tomorrow, think that will help me start moving quicker - we have had 6 months of extreme humidity and heat. Enough for me - Where is the snow! LOL. Hugs
