Friends Block for Quilt Block Mania

This month, we're going International! So let's join hands, and become Friends.

8 rainbow colored paper dolls in a quilt block

The Friends block is my creation for Quilt Block Mania's June block, with an anything goes color scheme for this International theme. How better to express that than with people of all colors joining hands?

These eight people are easily paper pieced and very exciting to see them join hands. They're also based on the colors of the rainbow, with turquoise thrown in as an eighth color - I think it adds a nice touch!

Friends finishes at 12" x 12", which is a nice size to work with for these eight people. I made these as women, but in the future, I may make a male version.

Now let's take a look at the blocks my fellow Quilt Block Mania designers have come up with to express an International theme.

  1. that is a cute block and I have never seen anything like it!

  2. this is wonderful. I love the different colors. I can so see men in with the women. Thank you for this great block.

  3. Honestly didn't notice that it was all women! Would be a nice thing for a ladies quilt circle of friends, everyone signing their name. But love the idea of male block. Or maybe a Mother/Daughter quilt? Thanks!

    1. That’s a fun block. I never thought of it being all girls as I never remember cutting out boy paper dolls as a child.

  4. I just love what you designed!!! perfect for the theme and so much fun in solids.

  5. I love the look of this block. I don't seem to be receiving the email with the pattern. Can you help? Ringo's Mom hrwamw@aol.com
